Expert Guides

Our Signature Tours are led by knowledgeable local guides who bring depth, care and insight to each experience.
Lead guide Juvani Thomas was born and raised in Castara and offers a perspective shaped by growing up on these hillsides and coastlines. He knows the trails, families and everyday details that reveal how life here is lived, helping guests see the landscape with fresh eyes.

For the advanced rainforest hike, we work with Fitzroy Quamina, a respected authority on Tobago’s ecosystems whose years spent in the Main Ridge bring reassurance and expertise to more demanding routes. His steady approach and deep understanding of the forest ensure a safe and rewarding experience.

Newsday
Morning Bird Walk

An early morning encounter with Tobago’s birdlife.

This early morning walk departs Tuesdays at 6:00 am along Miss Mills Trace near Englishman’s Bay, a quiet estate path bordered by forested slopes. Setting out at first light allows guests to experience the dawn chorus as the forest comes alive. With Juvani as your guide, you may spot resident and migratory species such as motmots, flycatchers and, with luck, the blue backed manakin. Moderate in level and well suited to guests who enjoy calm observation in a natural setting. Price is TT$300 per person.

Hidden Bay Circuit

A coastal adventure to secret coves and sweeping views.

Departing Saturdays at 8:00 am, this three to four hour intermediate walk follows rediscovered historical paths through bamboo groves, wild sugar cane and pockets of rainforest before reaching a secluded bay. Along the way, the coastline opens up from new vantage points, revealing views of sea and forest rarely seen from the village. The final bay is quiet and sheltered, with time for swimming or snorkelling. Level is intermediate and price is TT$350 per person. Group sizes are kept small to maintain the relaxed rhythm of the walk.

Bloody Bay to Rainforest Hike

An intrepid journey through untouched Main Ridge rainforest.

This advanced five hour hike is the most demanding of our Signature Tours and is led by Fitzroy Quamina, supported by Juvani Thomas. The route explores a remarkable section of the Main Ridge revealed through recent research and left untouched by Hurricane Flora. As the walk unfolds, the forest reveals its diversity through changing vegetation, shifting canopy light and the presence of birds, butterflies and seasonal tropical fruits. Guests are encouraged to pause and absorb the sounds of flowing water and forest life. A light lunch is provided along the route. Best suited to experienced walkers seeking a deeper forest experience. Price is TT$975 per person with limited spaces.
